Decorize.com, the first business dedicated to using new technology to deliver high-end home
accents and furnishings directly from Far East sources to retailers and their customers, today
announced the company's board of directors. Recognized leaders in their respective industries,
the new board members will guide the company as it revolutionizes the established home
furnishings industry.
"The selection of our board of directors is very significant as Decorize.com begins to grow.
Each of our board members possesses a strong history as a recognized industry leader, bringing
to the table extensive business experience and expertise," said Jon Baker, founder and chief
executive officer of Decorize.com.
Kevin Bohren is the former President of Compaq Business Services Division where he led the
expansion of the Compaq brand into the worldwide business services segment. He was one of the
first Compaq associates and was the first marketing person hired by the company during its early
development stage. Bohren was one of the early developers of Replay TV, where he also served as
interim CEO. He is currently on the board of Replay TV, The Tomorrow Factory and Amerson Music.
As an angel investor, he also works with emerging, leading- edge companies. When asked why he
joined the board of Decorize.com, Bohren answered, "This company is poised to revolutionize the
home furnishings purchasing process. It has the management experience and industry partnership
in place to deliver exceptional cost and time savings to their customer base."
Fabian Garcia brings extensive global leadership qualities to the board of directors. In
1996, he was named President of Chanel in the Asia Pacific region, the most important source of
income for the high-end French brand. Garcia lives in Singapore, where he manages every Chanel
line in Asia Pacific - including high-end fashion, fine jewelry, fragrances and cosmetics.
Before Chanel, Garcia spent 16 years in marketing and general management at Procter & Gamble.
Garcia became the first P&G General Manager in Taiwan, where he doubled the sales and profit
margin in just three years for the Max Factor business.
Timothy Dorgan, former President of Peapod Marketing Division, also worked as senior vice
president of e-commerce and integrated marketing at Follett Higher Education Group, a privately
held company that manages college bookstores. Tim currently owns his own consulting firm
specializing in e-commerce and nurturing emerging, new economy businesses. Prior to Peapod,
he was President of a division of Ketchum Advertising, a worldwide marketing services firm.
Jim Parsons brings more than 20 years of home furnishings experience to the board. Most
notably, Parsons formed GuildMaster 16 years ago. A recognized design leader in the home
furnishings industry, the company launched the Arnold Palmer Home Collection, Tin Revival
and America Country West brands under his leadership. Parson's design acumen and sense of
trends have resulted in the creation of several new categories in home accents.
Jon Baker serves as CEO of decorize.com and had been managing partner of GuildMaster. In
addition, he founded Baker McCormick Group, a national leadership consulting firm specializing
in assisting leaders with productivity improvements in their businesses. He has also been the
division chairman of Earle Palmer Brown Companies, a $1 billion marketing services firm. Prior
to that position, Baker served as President of Noble and Associates, a top 100 marketing
services company.
